Brynäs secured a dominant 4-0 victory over Luleå, completing a sweep of their SM-semifinal series and punching their ticket to the championship final. The decisive win marks Brynäs’ first appearance in the final series since 2023, where they’ll aim to finally break a streak of seven silver medals.
Matilda Österman opened the scoring for Brynäs just 12:16 into the first period, assisted by Jenniina Nylund and Ebba Hesselvall. Elin Svensson extended the lead to 2-0 at 24:31 of the second period, with Noora Tulus and Oona Koukkula providing the assists. Hanna Thuvik then added a third goal for Brynäs at 30:30, capitalizing on passes from Jenniina Nylund and Viivi Vainikka.
Noora Tulus capped off the scoring with a goal at 51:07 in the third period, assisted by Viivi Vainikka. The final score of 4-0 solidified Brynäs’ commanding performance throughout the series.
Brynäs goaltender Klára Peslarová delivered a stellar performance, stopping all 28 shots faced and earning a shutout victory. Her performance was instrumental in securing the clean sweep for Brynäs.
Brynäs will now face either Frölunda HC or SDE HF in the SM-final, with Frölunda currently leading that series 2-1.
