Chile’s Buin Zoo will be operating on a revised schedule starting next month, a change that will impact visitors planning trips to the popular attraction. The shift comes as the zoo prepares for seasonal maintenance.
Beginning Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the zoo will be open from 9:30 a.m. To 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday. It will be closed on Mondays for upkeep, according to recent announcements.
Previously, the zoo operated daily from 10:00 a.m. To 7:00 p.m. Monday, March 2, 2026, will be the last day under the vintage schedule. The zoo will be closed that day to facilitate the transition.
The Buin Zoo, considered the largest and most important zoological park in Chile, is home to more than 2,000 animals representing over 400 different species. It is located approximately 30 minutes from Santiago. More information about the zoo, including ticket prices, can be found on its website.
Ticket prices vary based on age. Adults (ages 15-59) are $15.990, children (over 90 cm and up to 14 years old) are $13.990, and seniors (60+) are $6.990. Children under 90 cm are admitted free. Tickets must be purchased online.
