Egypt’s public transportation system is adjusting its schedules following the Eid al-Fitr holiday. The National Authority for Tunnels announced updated timetables for the Cairo Metro and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) system, effective Tuesday, March 24, 2026.

Egyptian Railways is operating extra trains from Upper Egypt to Cairo beginning today, March 23, 2026, to manage passenger flow. Al-Watan details that these additions are intended to facilitate travel for those returning from the Eid holiday.
