NigComSat Launches 2026 Accelerator Program for Nigerian Tech Startups
The Nigerian Communications Satellite (NigComSat) today announced the opening of applications for its 2026 Accelerator Programme (Cohort 3.0), aiming to bolster innovation within Nigeria’s burgeoning technology sector.
The program is designed to provide emerging ventures with mentorship, networking opportunities, and resources to scale their businesses, with a particular focus on startups operating in areas like agriculture, health, and artificial intelligence. Eligible sectors also include telecommunications, mining, climate change, finance, security, logistics, robotics, and satellite/space-related solutions. Applicants must be legally registered with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), possess a Minimum Viable Product (MVP), and demonstrate growth potential. This initiative comes as Nigeria seeks to diversify its economy and become a regional hub for technological advancement.
Selected startups will benefit from capacity-building workshops, investor pitch opportunities, hackathon participation, and investment readiness training culminating in a Demo Day. Applicants are encouraged to submit a one-minute video showcasing their product or solution and to focus on demonstrating how their innovation addresses real-world problems. Further details on the application process and eligibility criteria can be found on the NigComSat website. For broader insights into the Nigerian startup ecosystem, resources are available from VC4A.
NigComSat officials stated that the program seeks to empower Nigerian startups to compete on a global stage and contribute to national growth. Applications are now open, and the review deadline will be announced shortly.
