Canada School Shooting: 7 Dead, Suspect Found Dead

A shooter is dead and nine people are dead following a series of shootings in the British Columbia town of Tumbler Ridge on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. The incident has shaken the small community and prompted a police investigation.

According to early reports, the shooter died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Authorities have not yet released details about the suspect, though Canadian media outlets reported the individual was a woman. The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) has not confirmed this information.

Twenty-seven people were also injured in the shootings, with two suffering critical injuries and the remaining 25 sustaining non-life-threatening wounds. The RCMP responded to reports of an active shooter at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School on Tuesday afternoon.

Police discovered six deceased individuals while searching the school. One additional victim died en route to a hospital. A second location linked to the incident was identified, where police found two more victims dead inside a residence.

Tumbler Ridge, a town of approximately 2,400 residents, is located more than 1,100 kilometers north of Vancouver, British Columbia. The shootings have prompted an outpouring of grief and concern from across Canada.
