Venezuelan buy-now-pay-later app Cashea confirmed a significant data breach on Sunday, February 22, 2026, stating that its technical and security teams immediately addressed the incident.
In a statement posted on its official social media channels, Cashea reported: “Our technical team, along with international cybersecurity specialists, has immediately addressed a data breach incident that was recently detected.”
The company also assured users that the application remains operational and that user and partner accounts were not compromised.
“Despite unauthorized access to a portion of our internal information, we want to assure you that the integrity of our users has not been compromised. The authentication systems, passwords, and direct access credentials of millions of users and partner businesses remain under strict protection and were not breached in any way,” the company stated.
Cashea to Provide Details to Customers
In a subsequent statement, Cashea announced that “between today and tomorrow, individuals in our community related to this incident will receive an email with clear and detailed information.”
“In this message, they will be able to learn in greater depth what happened and what additional measures we have taken to continue protecting everyone’s information,” the second statement explained.
The company plans to release a detailed public report outlining the “chronology of events” in the coming days.
