José Luis Chilavert has again defended Gianluca Prestianni against accusations of racism, this time turning his criticism toward Thibaut Courtois. The Real Madrid goalkeeper deemed the incident involving Vinicius Júnior at Benfica “lamentable,” prompting a strong response from Chilavert.
“It’s lamentable that he stole his teammate De Bruyne’s girlfriend. He talks about current values and how these things shouldn’t happen, but Vinicius told the kid, Prestianni, ‘cowardly bastard.’ And Mbappé said ‘racist asshole.’ They can insult you and say anything, and you can’t say anything?” the former Paraguayan goalkeeper said on Radio Rivadavia.
“Someone needs to tell Courtois that Belgium is dominated by Muslims, who steal and kill women. South American values are pro-family and need to be protected. And also tell Courtois to learn to play with his feet, to venture outside the area and take free kicks or penalties. He’s a normal goalkeeper,” he concluded.
The escalating feud comes amid ongoing controversy surrounding allegations of racism directed at Benfica’s Gianluca Prestianni during a Champions League match against Real Madrid, sparking debate across the soccer world.
