Chuck Norris’ Extensive Career

Born Carlos Ray Norris on March 10, 1940, in Oklahoma, Chuck Norris enlisted in the Air Force in 1958 and was stationed in South Korea, where he discovered martial arts, beginning his training in tang soo do, a discipline combining Japanese karate, Chinese kung fu, and modern taekwondo.

Upon returning to the United States, he opened several karate schools and began competing, quickly rising to prominence and becoming a professional karate world champion in 1968, a title he held until his retirement in 1974.

During this period, he developed his own fighting system, Chun Kuk Do.

Norris made his film debut in 1972, appearing alongside Bruce Lee in The Way of the Dragon, a scene that became one of the most iconic in action cinema history. The role helped launch his career and cemented his status as an action star.

Following several roles, he starred in Breaker! Breaker! (1977), launching a film career focused on action movies.

He went on to star in films such as The Octagon (1980), Lone Wolf McQuade (1983), Missing in Action (1984), Code of Silence (1985), Invasion U.S.A (1985), The Delta Force (1986), Firewalker (1986), and Hero and the Terror (1988).

In the 1990s, he continued with productions like Delta Force 2 (1990) and Sidekicks (1992) before transitioning to television.

From 1993 to 2001, he starred in the series Walker, Texas Ranger, which became a global success. The show’s popularity further solidified Norris’ place in pop culture.

Beginning in the 2000s, he gradually reduced his presence in film, though he made a cameo appearance in The Expendables 2 (2012).

He returned to the screen in 2024 with the film Agent Recon.
