Caracas, Venezuela – Clara Vegas, 23, of miranda state, was crowned Miss Universe Venezuela 2025 during a gala event Saturday night, continuing the nation’s storied legacy in international pageantry. The daughter of former Miss Venezuela 1990, Andreína Goetz, Vegas will represent Venezuela at the upcoming Miss Universe competition. The event, held at the Poliedro de Caracas, marked a return to the pageantry’s more elaborate and theatrical roots, with performances by noted Venezuelan artists Maite Delgado and Miguel Molly [[1]].

Clara Vegas, representing the state of Miranda, is the daughter of Miss Venezuela 1990, Andreína Goetz. The 23-year-old is an actress and model.

Clara Vegas Goetz has been crowned Miss Universe Venezuela 2025, representing the state of Miranda. The pageant’s top five finalists included representatives from Amazonas (first runner-up), Mérida (second runner-up), Yaracuy (third runner-up), and Monagas (fourth runner-up). The crowning took place during a gala event that celebrated the history and grandeur of the competition.

Vegas, an actress and model and the daughter of former Miss Venezuela Andreína Goetz, stated, “Internal beauty is more important than physical appearance.”

“What I most admire about being Venezuelan is undoubtedly the people. Venezuelans are welcoming. Even though I left my country at the age of nine, every time I visited, I always felt at home. Over the past three months, I’ve been welcomed with open arms, allowing me to reconnect with family and make new friends. I feel very comfortable being here and receiving so much kindness from my beloved people,” Vegas shared in an interview published on the official Miss Venezuela website.

The gala event was a nostalgic throwback to the competition’s golden age. Glitter and sequins, largely absent in recent years, returned to the stage, while elaborate feather designs created fantastical silhouettes. The Broadway-style show, majestic and vibrant, evoked the spirit of the grand productions overseen by the legendary Osmel Sousa.

The evening kicked off with a dazzling performance by Maite Delgado, who served as both muse and host, her voice accompanied by the dancers of Venevisión.

“Our eternal Maite is the main performer of tonight’s opening musical number, which also features special appearances by Miss Supranational Venezuela, Miss Venezuela International, and Miss Venezuela World,” the Miss Venezuela Organization wrote on X.

Tribute to Rubby Pérez

The night also included a tribute to Dominican singer Rubby Pérez, with a performance by Miguel Molly that transformed the Miss Venezuela stage into a merengue party.

During the question-and-answer round, Vegas Goetz emphasized that Venezuelan women are the driving force and heart of the nation, and expressed her desire to create projects that support their dreams.

She also delivered a message in English, highlighting the dedication of Venezuelans to building “a brighter tomorrow” through “peace, love, and empathy.”

Venezuela is a consistently successful competitor in global beauty pageants like Miss World and Miss International, and holds a Guinness World Record for winning the Miss Universe title in consecutive years. The country has won the Miss Universe crown a total of seven times, cementing its place as a powerhouse in the world of pageantry.
