Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton stated she was compelled to testify before a congressional panel, despite believing she possesses no relevant information to the ongoing investigation into Jeffrey Epstein. “They have forced me to testify, knowing full well that I have nothing to contribute to your investigation,” Clinton wrote on X.

She published the opening statement she delivered to the House of Representatives on Thursday, during which she testified about her relationship with Jeffrey Epstein.

The hearings are closed-door but are being filmed and transcribed.

Her husband, Bill Clinton, is scheduled to testify before the same panel on Friday.

The House Oversight Committee is leading the investigation into the Epstein case and has subpoenaed both Hillary and Bill Clinton to appear. The renewed scrutiny of the Clintons’ ties to Epstein comes as lawmakers continue to probe the extent of Epstein’s network and alleged abuses.

Neither Hillary nor Bill Clinton has been accused of criminal wrongdoing.

Bill Clinton has been open about his acquaintance with Epstein, but maintains the contact ended in the early 2000s.

Epstein reportedly visited the White House at least 17 times during Bill Clinton’s presidency, according to National Review, which analyzed visitor logs.

Flight logs from Epstein’s private jet – known as the “Lolita Express” – show Clinton accompanied Epstein on four international trips in 2002 and 2003, according to ABC News.

Bill Clinton has traveled to Bangkok, Rwanda, Russia and China on Epstein’s private jet.

Reportedly Visited the White House 17 Times

Bill Clinton has acknowledged knowing Epstein, but maintains the contact ended in the early 2000s.

According to House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, the Clintons reversed course after Congress threatened to subpoena them, Time reports.

Congress has the authority to compel testimony.

“Donald Trump has to answer questions about Epstein from you every day. The Clintons haven’t answered any, as far as I know,” Comer told the Associated Press.

He spoke to reporters before Hillary Clinton’s hearing.
