The ruling stems from a complaint filed by Claudia Calao, an aide to Representative María del Mar Pizarro of the Historical Pact. The CNE found the list violated a prior agreement and failed to adequately reflect the results of an October 2025 internal consultation.
According to Pizarro, the dispute centered on the prioritization of male candidates over women who received a higher number of votes, potentially violating principles of gender parity. The situation has been described as a case of internal conflict within the coalition.
Another challenge to the Historical Pact’s candidate list in Bogotá is scheduled for a vote on Thursday, February 5. This new complaint alleges the coalition improperly allied with the Colombia Humana party, which secured more than 15% of the vote in the 2022 elections, making it a majority party. The CNE previously revoked a similar list in the Valle del Cauca region for the same reason.

The Historical Pact has filed a motion for reconsideration and is exploring options to rectify the situation, which could involve removing candidates endorsed by the Colombia Humana party. The case highlights the complexities of coalition building and the challenges of maintaining internal consistency in electoral processes.
