Health officials are launching a campaign to raise awareness about the importance of colorectal cancer prevention and early detection. The initiative, dubbed “Mars Bleu” (Blue March), aims to improve screening rates and ultimately reduce mortality from this second-leading cause of cancer death.
The campaign highlights the importance of proactive health measures, as current screening rates in Brittany are only 38.8 percent—and 30.8 percent in the Côtes d’Armor region—despite the simplicity, speed, effectiveness, and reliability of the test. Increasing these rates is a key public health goal.
