Remedy Entertainment showcased new gameplay footage for its upcoming action-adventure RPG, Control Resonant, during a State of Play presentation on February 12, 2026. The sequel to the critically acclaimed Control is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, and Mac via Steam and the App Store, according to Remedy Entertainment.

The new gameplay reveals Dylan Faden navigating a warped version of Manhattan as he investigates a paranatural threat. Unlike its predecessor, Control Resonant features large, expansive zones for exploration, filled with optional discoveries and side activities, while maintaining a strong central narrative. The West Incursion Zone, one of the game’s early areas, is shown to be dynamically changing, with architecture shifting and gravity behaving unpredictably. This design choice reflects Remedy’s ambition to create a more volatile and aggressive experience than the original Control, as noted in Beebom’s coverage.

Players will encounter Zoe De Vera, a new character and FBC Field Agent, who serves as Dylan’s handler, providing guidance and context as events escalate. “Her relationship with Dylan is an important part of the story, pushing him to confront who he is, what he’s capable of, and what it means to hold onto his humanity in the middle of a supernatural crisis,” according to gameplay details shared by PlayStation Blog.

Control Resonant centers around combat progression and boss clashes, with players unlocking new abilities by defeating powerful Resonants. The game utilizes a shape-shifting weapon and emphasizes prompt-paced melee combat. Annapurna Pictures is co-financing and co-producing the game as part of a strategic partnership with Remedy Entertainment. This collaboration highlights the growing trend of partnerships in the video game industry to support ambitious projects, as seen in PC Master Race Latinoamérica.

Remedy Entertainment acquired the full rights to the Control franchise prior to developing the sequel and is self-publishing the title. The release of Control Resonant is highly anticipated, signaling continued innovation in the action-RPG genre.
