Remedy Entertainment announced that over one million units of Control were sold throughout 2025, bringing the total lifetime sales of the critically acclaimed action-adventure title to over five million copies. This milestone underscores the game’s enduring popularity and impact within the gaming community.

The success of Control extends beyond traditional sales figures, however. Remedy reports a lifetime player base of 20 million, a significant increase attributed to the game’s availability on subscription services like Game Pass. This highlights the growing influence of game subscription models in expanding a title’s reach, and audience.

Looking ahead, Remedy expressed confidence in the upcoming Control: Resonant, describing it as a “must-have day-one purchase” for fans of the series. The anticipation surrounding the sequel reflects the strong foundation established by the original game and the developer’s commitment to expanding the Control universe.

Control: Resonant is slated for release in 2026 on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC (Steam/Epic Games Store), and Mac. The game represents a significant evolution for the franchise, offering an open-ended action-adventure RPG experience set in a paranaturally warped Manhattan.
