Despite the 0-0 result at the Nelson Mandela Stadium in Baraki (Alger), CR Belouizdad created several scoring opportunities throughout the match. Tunisian forward Ben Hammouda proved to be a constant threat to the Egyptian defense, particularly in the first half and was the team’s primary attacking outlet.

This is a historic qualification for CRB, marking only the second time the club has reached a continental semi-final, following their appearance in the 1996 Cup Winners’ Cup. The result continues a strong showing for Algerian clubs in the competition.

Fellow Algerian side USM Alger will continue their Confederation Cup journey on Sunday evening, hosting AS Maniema of Congo at the 5-July Stadium in Algiers, with kickoff scheduled for 8:00 PM local time.

Other quarter-final matchups on Sunday include Zamalek SC (Egypt) against AS Otohô (Congo) and a clash between WAC and Olympique Club Safi.

The semi-final ties, to be played over two legs on April 12th and 19th, will see CR Belouizdad face the winner of the Zamalek SC versus AS Otohô contest. Should they advance, USM Alger will take on the victor of the WAC and Olympique Safi match.
