Brentford Receives Positive Injury Updates Ahead of Crystal Palace Clash
Brentford has confirmed that several players are available for selection ahead of their Saturday match against Crystal Palace, offering a boost to the team’s recent strong form.
Midfielder Jordan Henderson was rested during Tuesday’s 5-0 victory over Grimsby Town in the Carabao Cup as a precautionary measure, but has fully trained this week and is available. Aaron Hickey has recovered from an injury sustained while on international duty with Scotland and has also been cleared to play, while Yehor Yarmoliuk, who was substituted during the 3-2 win against Liverpool, is also fit to feature. However, Benjamin Arthur will miss Saturday’s game at Selhurst Park (3pm GMT kick-off) with an injury below the knee, though he is expected to return next week.
Keith Andrews provided further detail in a pre-match press conference, explaining Yarmoliuk’s injury: “Unfortunately, Yarmo went off last weekend and took a knock, which I think everyone could see. He tried to run it off but it was quite a strange one, he landed on studs. We’ve nudged him through the week and got him to a good place where he’s available.” Andrews also noted that Hickey “picked up a little injury with Scotland in the last camp, so we’ve pushed him as much as we can in a safe way and it’ll be good to have him available.” Brentford’s impressive recent run of form – winning four of their last five matches – has seen them climb the Premier League table.
Unfortunately, Antoni Milambo will miss the remainder of the season after suffering an anterior cruciate ligament injury, and Josh Dasilva remains sidelined. The Bees will be hoping to continue their winning momentum against Crystal Palace, but will need to navigate the absences of key players. The club will continue to monitor the players’ fitness levels throughout the week, and further updates will be provided if necessary.
