The officially licensed Cyberpunk TCG launched its Kickstarter campaign on March 17th and quickly surpassed its funding goal, demonstrating significant early interest from fans.
Within hours of going live, the Cyberpunk Trading Card Game campaign exceeded its initial target of $100,000 and as of 11:00 PM local time, backers had pledged over $6 million. More than 7,000 contributors have already supported the project, highlighting its rapid success.
The crowdfunding campaign is scheduled to run for one month, and the total amount pledged continues to climb rapidly. As funding milestones are reached, additional benefits and rewards are unlocked for supporters. Backers can contribute any amount, but specific pledge tiers unlock exclusive content, including extra cards, specialized dice, unique characters, and collector’s boxes, ranging in price from $49 to $7,999.
The Cyberpunk TCG is poised to appeal not only to fans of the Cyberpunk universe but also to collectors of trading card games. The popularity of deck-building games with tactical combat is growing, and this new release appears to be following a similar trajectory.
The game is being developed by WeirdCo, and gameplay will center around tactical, competitive card battles. The TCG will draw heavily from the worlds of both Cyberpunk 2077 and the hit Netflix anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners.
Iconic characters from the Cyberpunk universe will feature in the game, including Johnny Silverhand, Panam, V, and Judy. The game mechanics are designed to be accessible to both newcomers and experienced trading card game players. The aesthetic, closely aligned with the Cyberpunk universe, is another major draw for supporters.
