Dacia Striker: Spanish Verdict – The Most Beautiful Model Ever?

Spanish audiences have previewed Dacia’s newest model, and are responding positively to the vehicle slated to begin production in June.

Dacia appears to have a hit on its hands with the new Striker model, a crossover poised to disrupt European sales charts. Iberian consumers, known for their appreciation of Dacia vehicles, are already calling the Striker “the most gorgeous model in the brand’s history,” according to reports. The positive reception is a boost for the Renault-owned automaker as it seeks to expand its market share.

Striker Poised to Turn into Dacia’s Most Attractive Model

Dacia’s designers have successfully developed a crossover model to complement its C-segment offerings, a crucial category in European markets. The Renault-owned brand is continuing to broaden its lineup with electric models, but is now introducing a vehicle with a striking design that has captivated Spanish consumers.

“The new Dacia is, the most beautiful in the brand’s history,” noted eldesmarque.

The new Dacia model features a modern and fashionable design, moving away from the brand’s traditionally boxy shapes in favor of more fluid and elegant lines. Spanish observers have drawn comparisons to the Peugeot 408 and Citroen C5 X.

While positioned as an urban crossover, the Striker also offers off-road specifications, including generous ground clearance. Three engine types will be available – LPG, diesel, and gasoline – with the LPG option offering a combined range of up to 1,500 kilometers when paired with a gasoline or diesel tank.

The starting price is as appealing as the design itself, beginning under €25,000, significantly lower than competing brands in the same market segment. This competitive pricing strategy is expected to drive sales volume.

François Prevost, head of the Renault Group, announced that the Striker will be manufactured at the Oyak Renault plant in Turkey. The move comes as the brand prepares to fully relocate production away from Romania, citing ongoing fiscal concerns related to rapidly changing tax regulations impacting major industries.

Dacia Remains a Sales Force in Europe

Last year, Dacia saw a 3% increase in sales compared to 2024, with over 700,000 vehicles sold. The Sandero remained the best-selling model, with over 290,000 units sold. Hybrid vehicles experienced the largest growth, increasing by 122%.

In addition to the Striker, Dacia is preparing to launch the Bridger concept, a 4-meter urban SUV.
