Denpasar, Indonesia – The city of Denpasar celebrated its 238th anniversary on February 28, 2026, with the successful launch of the Denpasar Creative Awards (DCA), a competition designed to foster youth creativity with a focus on artificial intelligence (AI) technologies. The event, held at Ruang Audio Visual Dharma Negara Alaya, was a collaborative effort between the city government and the Denpasar branch of Kesatuan Mahasiswa Hindu Dharma Indonesia (PC KMHDI).

The DCA aims to provide a platform for young people to not only utilize AI but also to become innovators in the field. “Denpasar Creative Awards is a space for the actualization of the younger generation in answering the challenges of the times,” said Panca Kusuma Ramadi, Chairman of PC KMHDI Denpasar. This year’s competition centered around the creation of AI-powered public service announcement videos, reflecting a concrete adaptation to emerging technologies.

Ramadi emphasized the revolutionary nature of AI and its potential to impact numerous sectors, including communication and the creative industries. “AI is a revolutionary technology. If the younger generation is not adaptive, they will be left behind,” he stated. “Through this competition, we want to provide a platform for young people in Denpasar to not only be users, but also creators of technology.”

The initiative received praise from Gede Wirakusuma, Head of the Denpasar City Communication, Informatics, and Statistics Office, who highlighted the collaborative spirit of the event. “This event is a collaboration between KMHDI Denpasar and the Denpasar City Government,” Wirakusuma noted. “We thank KMHDI Denpasar for providing a platform for the creativity of young people, especially in the use of AI technology.”

The Denpasar City Government has committed to continued support for strengthening the digital ecosystem and developing the technological capabilities of its youth, viewing it as integral to the city’s innovation-driven development. The DCA is envisioned as more than just a ceremonial event tied to the city’s anniversary; organizers hope it will serve as a strategic catalyst for cultivating a new generation of adaptable, creative, and responsible technology users and developers.
