Tension flared in the stands during Sunday’s match between Deportivo Cali and Atlético Nacional, as a scuffle broke out among fans in the western section of Palmaseca Stadium. The incident occurred in an area of the stadium designated for educational programs with children, who reportedly witnessed the disturbance.

According to a reporter inside the stadium, heated arguments began as fans entered the western section.

The verbal dispute quickly escalated into a physical altercation, with fans pushing and shoving each other. As the crowd grew, and with minors present in the western tribune, police intervened and removed the involved fans from the area.

Video footage of the incident shows the tension building in the stands, highlighting how easily conflict can arise even among supporters of the same team.

This incident comes less than a week after a fan was seriously injured during a fight following the February 8th match between Deportivo Cali and Millonarios, a 0-0 draw in the Liga Betplay 2026 – I. The match, known as the ‘clásico añejo,’ saw the home side’s celebration marred by violence.
