Actor and comedian Diding Boneng was hospitalized at Radjak Hospital in central Jakarta on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, according to reports.
The performer, known for his roles as a security guard and military trainer in the Warkop film series, is receiving intensive care due to complications from asthma.
“That’s true (he was hospitalized because of asthma),” Diding Boneng confirmed in a text message on Thursday, February 19, 2026.

The 76-year-old, whose full name is Zainal Abidin, apologized for being unable to provide further details about his condition.
“Sorry, I can’t talk right now. I’m having trouble breathing,” Diding Boneng said.
This isn’t the first recent health scare for the veteran entertainer. He has been battling asthma for the past three years.
Diding Boneng previously suggested the condition may have been triggered by a demanding film shoot. He spent 80 days filming a horror movie in the forest, where he was exposed to nighttime conditions and extensive use of artificial smoke.
“I realized it started after I finished filming. At that time, 80 percent of the scenes were at night and we always used artificial smoke effects. That might be the cause,” he said in an interview earlier this January.
Adding to his health challenges, Diding Boneng’s home in the Matraman area was undergoing renovations earlier in 2026.
