Diesel prices are set to climb sharply across the country starting this Friday, reaching a level not seen since October 24, 2022. The increase of 15 cents per liter will bring the price of diesel to 2.006 euros per liter.
The price hike comes amid ongoing geopolitical tensions in the Middle East, which have already pushed diesel prices up by 35.8%, or 52.1 cents per liter, since the beginning of the recent events. This latest increase reflects broader concerns about energy market stability and potential supply disruptions.
While diesel is experiencing the most significant increase, other fuel types will also see price adjustments. Unleaded 95 gasoline will increase by 2.5 cents per liter to 1.727 euros. Unleaded 98 gasoline will remain unchanged at 1.830 euros.
Heating oil is also affected, with a 15-cent-per-liter increase, bringing its price to 1.460 euros per liter as of Friday.
Here are the prices effective from Friday, March 20:
- Essence 95: 1.727 euro (+2.5 centimes)
- Essence 98: 1.830 euro (stable)
- Diesel: 2.006 euros (+15 centimes)
