Bandai Namco Entertainment announced plans for a major downloadable content (DLC) expansion for the RPG Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory during the “DIGIMONCON 2026” event. The DLC is slated for release in 2027.

Producer Ryosuke Original stated that development of the large-scale DLC was prompted by “overwhelming player support and enthusiastic responses.” He also revealed that the DLC content will partially reflect the results of the 139th Digimon Grand Prix, where players voted for the Digimon they most wanted to see featured in a home console game or within the game itself.

During the livestream, specific details about the DLC were not disclosed. Although, Original jokingly told voice actress Mutsumi Tamura, who portrays the protagonist, Aegisomon, “I’ll be relying on you again,” hinting at the potential for additional characters and story elements.

Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hacker’s Memory is the latest installment in the Digimon Story series, released after a ten-year hiatus. The game centers on a mystery surrounding the collapse of the real world as players embark on an adventure spanning both the human world and the digital world. The title features the collection and nurturing of over 450 Digimon, combined with a turn-based battle system incorporating strategic team composition. The enduring popularity of the Digimon franchise demonstrates the continued appeal of creature-collecting RPGs.

The game is currently available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam, having surpassed 1 million units sold as of December of last year. The Steam version is currently on sale for 30% off during the 2026 Spring Sale, reaching a historic low price. Versions for the Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch are scheduled to launch on July 9, 2026.
