DJ Dada Says She Spoke with Nana Rybena, Still Concerned for Her Friend

On December 9th, DJ Dada revealed that a message of support from Ann Opasirivatana arrived shortly after the news broke. “Brother Ann’s words were so beautiful, truly. I cried reading them – they were so touching,” she said. “Many people commented saying even *they* were moved by what he wrote. After appearing on ‘Hone Kraes,’ I received so many messages encouraging me to not give up on what I believe in, to be a true friend, and to not abandon her. It was incredibly touching. I started to cry while reading it, even while I was in the car.” She added that she immediately messaged Ann to thank him for his heartfelt words.

“People Say They Wish They Had a Friend Like Dada”
“I’m happy to hear that,” Dada said, “but I think going forward, I need to be more careful. I have a lot of acquaintances, but not many close friends. People see me as cheerful, but I actually put up a lot of walls when it comes to letting people get close.”

On Staying Distant But Supportive?
“I’m worried about her and want her to get through this. I truly believe in giving people second chances. I believe that when someone falls, they’ll eventually have an opportunity to get back up.”

Dada believes that everyone makes mistakes, but acknowledged the importance of taking responsibility. “If she recognizes her mistakes, accepts what she’s done, and learns from it, I think it’s okay. Whether it takes five or ten years, if she’s genuinely committed to becoming a better person, I’m okay with that. I try not to let anger cloud my judgment, because it prevents you from finding solutions. What’s done is done, you can’t change it. So, you have to move forward and address the current situation.” She explained that she’s been discussing potential repayment plans with Nana and her lawyer, focusing on what Nana can realistically manage.

What Did You Talk About with Nana?
“Right now, we’re discussing a repayment plan that’s manageable for her. That’s brought a lot of comfort. When we cut out the anger, there’s no need to argue or fight. We can focus on the problem and have a calm conversation.”

What Hurt You the Most During This Time?
“Certain pages took my comments out of context, which led to a lot of negative attention. Luckily, I’m quick to bounce back. I considered taking legal action, but decided against it. They just said, ‘See, this is why you should consult with your husband.’ Because I tend to be impulsive and my husband and I often handle things separately, he suggested I run things by him first so he can offer some guidance. But I’m still capable of taking care of myself.”

“The situation consumed so much energy, taking away from my work and the company. I barely did any live streams, and had my staff cover for me. Now that things are starting to settle down and become clearer, I can focus on my work again. Cutting out the anger and frustration has made everything so much better.”

How Do You Feel About the Backlash Shifting Towards Those Who Spoke Out?
“That’s a difficult question. I’d rather not answer that.”
