On Sunday, during the semifinal round of the 2026 World Baseball Classic at loanDepot park between the United States and the Dominican Republic, Caminero hit his team’s 15th home run of the tournament. This marks the highest collective total of home runs by a single team in a single edition of the event, surpassing the previous record of 14 set by Mexico in 2009.

Caminero is now tied with Jarren Durán (Mexico) and Vinnie Pasquantino (Italy) for the lead in home runs in the 2026 Classic with three apiece. For the Dominican Republic, Caminero is followed by Oneil Cruz, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Juan Soto, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Austin Wells, all with two home runs each. Ketel Marte and Julio Rodríguez have each added one to the Dominican Republic’s impressive power display. This offensive firepower has propelled the Dominican Republic to a strong showing in the tournament.
