SetdaDompuKab- Authorities in Dompu Regency, Indonesia, have launched a measles immunization campaign targeting nearly 26,000 children under five years old, responding to a recent increase in cases.
The “Outbreak Response Immunization” (ORI) initiative was officially launched on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at the Dompu District Office, with Dompu Regent Bambang Firdaus, SE, in attendance, along with key regional officials.
Regent Firdaus expressed his hope that the immunization campaign would reach all eligible children, ensuring they have the opportunity to grow up healthy and contribute to the future of the region and the nation.
“With this measles immunization, People can ensure that all toddlers have a good immune system and can be free from measles,” he stated.
The campaign aims to provide comprehensive immunization coverage, utilizing available resources to protect vulnerable children. This initiative aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s vision for a strong and resilient generation by 2045.
Firdaus also emphasized the importance of support from all levels of government – from the regency down to the village level – to ensure the success of the immunization program. He urged community members to help spread awareness about the campaign so that all targeted children can receive the vaccine.
According to a report presented by the Head of the Health Department, Surawan, SKM, the immunization campaign will target 25,705 children aged between 9 and 59 months.
“The measles immunization activity targets toddlers aged 9-59 months, totaling 25,705 children,” Surawan said.

The launch of this immunization campaign comes as Dompu Regency faces a rise in measles cases, with 216 suspected cases reported so far this year, according to recent reports. This proactive measure underscores the importance of rapid public health responses to prevent widespread outbreaks and protect vulnerable populations.
