Driver Arrested: Hardloopster Seriously Injured in Hit-and-Run

A man is being held for an additional two weeks while authorities investigate an incident where a female runner was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle, according to reports from Dutch news outlets.

The incident occurred in ‘s-Gravenzande, Netherlands. Police have arrested a suspect in connection with the case, NOS reported.

The runner, identified as Lisa, was reportedly hit from behind and left at the scene. Witnesses stated the driver continued without stopping, according to AD.nl.

Authorities initially detained the suspect, and a judge has now extended the detention period by two weeks to allow for further investigation, NU reported. The case has drawn significant attention, highlighting concerns about pedestrian safety and hit-and-run incidents.

The vehicle involved sustained serious damage in the collision, Omroep West reported.
