A U.S. Diplomatic logistics complex in Baghdad was targeted in a coordinated drone attack on Wednesday, March 7, 2026. The Baghdad Diplomatic Support Center, located near the airport and Iraqi military bases, experienced the assault, raising concerns about escalating regional instability amid the ongoing conflict between the U.S., Israel, and Iran.

According to a U.S. Official, five of six drones were shot down, with one impacting the facility grounds. Personnel were ordered to shelter in place immediately following the attack. The incident underscores the increasing risk to U.S. Personnel and installations in Iraq as tensions continue to rise.

The Iraqi Defense Ministry swiftly condemned the attacks near military bases, promising consequences for those responsible. In a statement, the ministry affirmed its commitment to protecting Iraqi sovereignty, and security.

The attack in Baghdad is part of a broader pattern of incidents targeting U.S. Interests in the region. In the past week, the U.S. Embassy in Kuwait and a consulate in Dubai have also been targeted. Previously, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh was also hit, sustaining damage so severe that the State Department determined the building could not be rebuilt and must be closed.

The Pentagon has confirmed that numerous military personnel have been injured since the start of the conflict with Iran, with approximately 140 U.S. Service members wounded and seven killed. Simultaneously, Iran reports over 1,300 civilian deaths resulting from U.S. And Israeli strikes, while Israel reports 11 civilian casualties from Iranian attacks. These figures highlight the escalating human cost of the ongoing confrontation.
