KSRTC employees who rushed to the scene after hearing shouts from passengers attempted to stop the officer, but he reportedly verbally abused them in the process. Fellow police officers on the bus then intervened and restrained him.

Police from the Pathanamthitta station arrived and took the officer into custody. While being detained, he reportedly told officers, “You khaki, I khaki, we are khaki,” indicating he was similarly a member of law enforcement. He was later released on bail.

The incident occurred as the officer was attempting to travel to Pamba for duty. The case highlights the potential for serious safety risks when individuals attempt to operate vehicles while impaired.
