Chile’s consumer protection agency has issued safety alerts for vehicles manufactured by DS and Citroën, impacting models sold between 2025 and 2026. The alerts stem from potential defects that could elevate the risk of accidents or fires, depending on the vehicle.
Safety Alert: DS Vehicles
The National Consumer Service (Sernac) issued a safety alert for DS Berlingo vehicles sold in Chile between December 2025 and March 2026, citing a potential failure in the high-pressure fuel pipe. This defect poses a safety risk to consumers.
A total of 568 units are affected by this alert.
The company reports a non-compliance issue in the connection of the high-pressure fuel pipe to the common injection rail, “which could produce fuel leaks towards the exhaust system area.”
Should this condition occur, “fuel leaks could occur, and when in contact with the high-temperature surfaces of the exhaust system, generate an imminent risk of fire in the engine compartment.”

Safety Alert: Citroën Vehicles
A separate safety alert has been issued for Citroën Spacetourer, Jumpy, and Berlingo models sold in Chile during 2025-2026, due to a potential defect in the instrument panel. This issue also presents a safety risk to consumers.
The company reports that affected vehicles exhibit a production/manufacturing defect in the instrument panel, “presenting a black screen in the indicated panel and/or radio.”
This alert impacts 185 units.
If this condition occurs, “functions such as speed limit indication, lane keeping assistance, or the advanced emergency braking system may not be available, increasing the risk of an accident.”
