A man died in Dubai after debris from a downed drone fell on his vehicle, authorities have reported. The incident occurred in the Al Barsha district of the city, and the victim has been identified as an Asian national.

The incident prompted a temporary suspension of flights at Dubai International Airport by Emirates airline, as officials warned of potential falling debris. A separate incident involved debris landing on the facade of a high-rise building in the Dubai Marina area, though no injuries were reported there.

These events come as Iran appears to be preparing for the selection of a new supreme leader following the death of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. Ayatollah Hassan Mosafari, a member of the Assembly of Experts responsible for choosing the next leader, stated that the appointment is expected within the next 24 hours, according to the Fars news agency.

Mosafari urged against the spread of rumors regarding the delay in the selection process. The call follows growing criticism within religious circles in Qom, a major Shiite religious center, regarding the Assembly of Experts’ lack of a swift decision.

“We expect the Assembly of Experts to act swiftly in this matter to thwart the hopes of the enemy and preserve the cohesion and unity of the nation,” stated Ayatollah Hussein Nuri-Hamedani. Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi also emphasized that a rapid decision would be the best way to strengthen national sovereignty and effectively manage state affairs.

Meanwhile, a classified report from the U.S. National Security Council assesses that the Trump administration’s policies toward Iran have limited prospects for success. The report, obtained by the Washington Post, was drafted shortly before potential military conflict with Iran.
