Dustin Johnson Re-Signs with LIV Golf, Will Captain 4 Aces GC in 2026

Two-time major champion Dustin Johnson has agreed to an extension with LIV Golf, ensuring he will continue to compete on the breakaway tour and captain the 4 Aces team in the 2026 season.

Johnson, 41, was among the first high-profile players to join LIV Golf in 2022, resigning his PGA Tour membership after signing a reported three-year deal worth over $100 million. While speculation arose following a series of missed cuts in major championships since joining LIV – including missing three of four cuts in 2025 – Johnson’s commitment signals continued stability for the tour. His team currently includes Patrick Reed, Jason Kokrak, and Harold Varner III.

The agreement was finalized after recent meetings between Johnson’s representatives and LIV officials in New York. Despite a dip in major championship performance, with his most recent result being a T23 at The Open Championship this year, Johnson has secured three individual victories on the LIV circuit. He recently expressed his ambition to rejoin the US Ryder Cup team in 2027, telling reporters last month he was targeting a return to the team in Ireland. The 2026 LIV Golf season is scheduled to begin in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, next February, and this news comes as other key players also appear set to renew their contracts. Bryson DeChambeau, whose popularity has surged with his YouTube content, is reportedly close to a new deal, while Brooks Koepka’s future remains somewhat uncertain despite previous reports suggesting he might be open to a return to the PGA Tour. LIV officials have indicated that most players eligible for renewal this year have already agreed to terms, and are expected to compete in the upcoming season.
