Former television presenter Maureen du Toit announced her engagement to Jeroen on February 14, 2026. Du Toit shared a video on social media of the moment following the proposal, showing her embracing her fiancé as onlookers applauded. The proposal took place on the island of Madeira, coinciding with Jeroen’s birthday. “I said ‘yes’,” Du Toit wrote alongside the video, adding, “Fallen in love, and suddenly engaged on Madeira.”
The couple has been together for several years and now form a blended family, with Du Toit having two children from a previous relationship and Jeroen also having two children. The rise of blended families reflects evolving societal structures and the increasing use of technology to maintain connections across households.

Du Toit’s career as a presenter for Hart van Nederland ended in 2012 due to program restructuring. She, along with Milika Peterzon and Cilly Dartell, were impacted by the changes. Du Toit previously told De Telegraaf, “I had the best time of my life at Hart van Nederland.”
