Latvian forward Eduards Tralmaks is set to sign a long-term contract with Czech Extraliga club Kladno “Rytiri,” according to a report from “Hokej.cz”.
The contract is expected to span five years. However, Karlovy Vary “Energie” currently holds the rights to Tralmaks in the Czech Republic, meaning Kladno will require to provide compensation to secure his signature. Unofficial reports suggest that compensation could reach $200,000.
Tralmaks initially signed a long-term deal with Karlovy Vary in January of last year. His plans shifted, however, when the Latvian national team player secured a two-way contract with the Detroit “Red Wings” of the National Hockey League (NHL). This season, the forward has been playing for the “Griffins” in the American Hockey League (AHL), where he has registered 26 points (18 goals, 8 assists) in 46 games.
Before heading to North America, Tralmaks spent two seasons with “Rytiri,” becoming the Czech Extraliga’s leading scorer in the 2024/2025 season with 51 points (23 goals, 28 assists) in 48 matches.
Tralmaks previously stated he did not plan to return to Europe this season, as he was focused on attempting to break into the NHL.
