Egypt’s Paralympic track and field team delivered a strong performance at the Fazza International Para Athletics Championships in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, securing a total of five medals. The competition serves as a crucial qualifying event for the 2028 Summer Paralympics in Los Angeles.

The Minister of Youth and Sports, Gouhar Nabil, congratulated the Egyptian team on their success, praising their impressive showing and highlighting the growth of Paralympic sport in Egypt. He also emphasized the state’s continued support for athletes with disabilities as they prepare for future international competitions.

Karim Mahmoud Abdel Tawab led the medal charge, winning three medals. He claimed silver in the T44 100-meter race with a time of 11.83 seconds, and added another silver in the T44 200-meter race, finishing in 24.17 seconds. Abdel Tawab also secured a bronze medal in the T44 long jump. Mohamed Kamal added to the tally with a bronze medal in the F37 discus throw, recording a distance of 47.40 meters. Youssef Gamal Abdelsalam also earned a bronze in the T47 long jump, leaping 6.43 meters.

Yassin Bahr also showcased a competitive spirit, finishing fourth in the F36 shot put with a throw of 8.60 meters and fourth in the F36 discus throw, setting a novel personal best of 34.70 meters. Mohamed Saeed Abdel-Aty finished fifth in the F34 javelin throw, recording a distance of 27.27 meters.
