Unsettled Weather Expected Across Egypt on Wednesday, March 18, 2026

Egypt is bracing for another day of unsettled weather on Wednesday, March 18, 2026, with forecasts predicting varying intensities of rainfall, strong winds, and a potential for flash floods in some areas. The approaching weather system is prompting authorities to issue warnings to residents and travelers.

The Egyptian Meteorological Authority announced that conditions will be gradually warming throughout the day, particularly in southern regions, but will turn cooler again overnight. Temperatures are expected to rise by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius across most of the country.

According to reports, rainfall is likely across the northern coast and Lower Egypt, potentially becoming intermittent. More significant rainfall, possibly accompanied by thunder, is forecast for areas in Sinai, the Red Sea, the Gulf of Suez, and northern Upper Egypt. Authorities are warning of potential flash floods in these regions, particularly along roads leading from the Red Sea governorate to northern Upper Egypt.

Winds are expected to be active across the country, with speeds ranging from 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, stirring up sand and dust. These conditions could disrupt maritime navigation, according to the meteorological authority.

Early morning hours will begin with cooler temperatures, gradually transitioning to warmer conditions during the day. The weather service advises residents to dress appropriately for changing temperatures.

The unsettled weather conditions highlight the importance of preparedness and caution during this period. Residents in affected areas are advised to stay informed about the latest weather updates and grab necessary precautions.
