One of the biggest theatrical hits in recent years, ‘Escape Room’ is making its debut in Zaragoza, offering audiences a unique and thrilling experience where nothing is as it seems. Directed by Xavi Mira, this dark comedy has captivated audiences across Spain and traveled internationally to countries like Chile and Mexico, attracting over 300,000 viewers.
The production, from Olympia Metropolitana and Albena Teatre, is based on the original function by Joel Joan and Hèctor Claramunt, blending suspense, sharp humor and a keen portrayal of human flaws, creating an experience that is both comical, and unsettling. The play’s success highlights the growing demand for immersive theatrical experiences.
Four Characters and Many Secrets
The story centers around two couples who decide to try out the latest popular escape room. What begins as a fun outing quickly transforms into a challenging experience filled with puzzles, unexpected twists, and revelations that will test their friendship and expose hidden secrets.
In Zaragoza, the cast features Sergio Caballero, Águeda Llorca, Josep Manel Casany and Cristina García, portraying four characters trapped in a game that becomes increasingly dangerous. The play explores the fragility of human principles when faced with fear, love, or death, combining surprising turns with moments of dark humor.
‘Escape Room’ is a 90-minute emotional rollercoaster, recommended for ages 14 and up, alternating between tension and laughter until a shocking conclusion.
Dates and Tickets
The play will offer 12 performances in Zaragoza, from Thursday, February 26th to Sunday, March 8th, with double performances on February 28th and March 7th at 6:00 PM and 8:30 PM. A 30% discount will be applied on February 26th and March 3rd.
