Eskişehir Crash: Former Ministers Koç & Selçuk Injured

A multi-vehicle collision in Turkey on Monday, March 23, 2026, injured eight people, including two former government ministers. The accident occurred in the Kaymaz neighborhood of Sivrihisar.

Among those injured were Atilla Koç, former Minister of Culture and Tourism, and his daughter, Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, who previously served as Minister of Family and Social Services, according to reports from DHA.

Both Koç and Selçuk were transported by ambulance to hospitals in Ankara. The remaining six injured individuals were taken to nearby medical facilities. Authorities have stated that none of the injuries are considered life-threatening.

JUSTICE MINISTER GÜRLEK: INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED

An investigation into the crash has been initiated, Justice Minister Akın Gürlek announced. The incident has prompted a formal inquiry by the Republic Prosecutor’s Office.

“An investigation has been launched by our Republic Prosecutor’s Office regarding the multi-vehicle traffic accident that occurred tonight in Eskişehir,” Minister Gürlek said in a social media post. “I wish a speedy recovery to our esteemed citizens, including our former Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mr. Atilla Koç, and our former Minister of Family and Social Services, Ms. Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, who were affected by the accident. I wish a speedy recovery to all the injured and hope they return to health as soon as possible.”
