EssilorLuxottica, the world’s largest eyewear company and owner of brands like Ray-Ban, Oakley, and Persol, has completed a deal to acquire a significant stake in Top Charoen, Thailand’s largest optical retail network. The transaction, finalized on April 2, 2026, establishes EssilorLuxottica as a key partner in the Thai retailer, according to a report from LINE TODAY.

Top Charoen operates a network of over 2,000 stores across Thailand, making it the country’s leading optical retailer. EssilorLuxottica stated that Thailand is a strategically important hub for its global manufacturing and business operations. This partnership is expected to strengthen EssilorLuxottica’s commitment to elevating vision healthcare throughout the region and globally.

The move underscores EssilorLuxottica’s expansion in the Asian market. According to Techsauce, the acquisition will allow the company to solidify its position in the ASEAN market.

EssilorLuxottica and Top Charoen announced the completion of the transaction, noting it builds upon a long-standing relationship between the two companies. The deal involves EssilorLuxottica acquiring a substantial shareholding in Top Charoen, as detailed in a report by Brand Buffet.

Financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed. However, Share2Trade reported that Top Charoen generated nearly 6 billion baht in revenue in 2027.
