ExpoFlamenco is providing extensive coverage of the festival, deploying a team of journalists to report on performances, analyze artistic developments, and offer insights into the world of flamenco. “From Jerez to the world through the window that the ExpoFlamenco team opens for fans everywhere,” a statement from the publication reads. “We are deploying the best professionals of the portal to offer broad and quality journalistic coverage, with the rigor characteristic of our contributors, informing and opining from a deep knowledge, analyzing artistic events and giving our readers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the land of wine, gastronomy, horses and flamenco to experience firsthand what happens there during these weeks.”
Critics Alejandro Luque, Kiko Valle, and Manuel Martín Martín will be filing daily reviews, bringing their expertise to the coverage. Martín Martín, a veteran critic, has attended every edition of the festival since its inception. Adding to the depth of reporting, Estela Zatania, based in Jerez, will share her perspective on the festival’s 30-year history through a series of articles.
Journalist Juan Garrido will offer a behind-the-scenes look at the festival with his “From Within” section, sharing unique moments and previews of the program’s 48 performances, including 11 premieres. José Anillo will be gauging audience reactions after key performances at the Teatro Villamarta, while Kotoha Setoguchi will bring news of the festival to Japan, where flamenco has a dedicated following.
Dieguito Méndez will be capturing video highlights of the festival for social media, and José María Castaño will cover press conferences with assistance from Nano Hernández, interviewing artists featured in the lineup. ExpoFlamenco is also hosting courses in dance, guitar, and song at its Jerez headquarters, along with project presentations and interviews. Juan Vergillos will lead a course on the history of dance.
María Isabel Rodríguez Palop, with support from José Manuel Gallego, has already conducted an interview with festival director Carlos Granados, and plans to interview the city’s mayor and other prominent figures. The team’s work is supported by Quico Pérez Ventana, who edits and prepares the content for publication.
ExpoFlamenco invites fans to follow their coverage on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. “ExpoFlamenco is… The voice of flamenco in the world,” the publication states. The festival’s kickoff underscores the enduring appeal of flamenco and its growing international reach.
