A Musical Family’s Harmony Strikes a Chord at the Grammys
Aura comes from a family steeped in musical tradition. Her grandfather plays the saxophone, and her great-grandfather was a trumpeter. Her father, known as Fyütch, began his career as a member of a jazz and hip-hop group before transitioning into teaching, where he started creating educational songs for his students. These songs gained popularity after he shared them online.
Aura has been joining her father on stage since she was four years vintage, even singing alongside him. This shared passion led to the creation of their album, Harmony, which recently earned them a Grammy nomination. The album celebrates themes of family, gratitude, and empathy.
Positive Vibes and Empowering Lyrics !
The songs on Harmony are described as fun and joyful, tackling themes of family, self-confidence, empathy, and solidarity. They similarly promote tolerance. The father-daughter duo’s work is particularly noteworthy in the family music space, offering a fresh perspective on positive messaging.
The album’s title track, also called “Harmony,” explains the concept simply. In music, it’s a pleasing combination of sounds. But in everyday life, harmony also represents positive relationships between people, or with nature. Fyütch recently told American Songwriter, “It would just be awesome to get that award and for her to be the youngest solo winner.” You can listen to the song here:
