Faye Webster Reimagines Discography with Hollywood Bowl Orchestra

Singer-songwriter Faye Webster performed a unique concert yesterday evening, November 1, 2025, at Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles, leading the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra through orchestral arrangements of her songs.

The performance marked a full-circle moment for Webster, who shared with the audience that attending the symphony in her hometown of Atlanta was a form of therapy during a difficult time. “Going to the symphony was almost like therapy for me,” she said, recalling how she would often attend performances alone, seeking solace in the music. The concert featured 17 songs from her discography, including “Kind Of (Type of Way)” and “Car Therapy,” with arrangements by conductor Thomas Wilkins that added warmth and cinematic scope to her intimate vocals.

The event differed from Webster’s typical indie rock shows, with the audience remaining seated in quiet contemplation throughout the performance, demonstrating the emotional resonance of the music. Webster’s ability to transform personal reflections into profound songwriting has garnered her a dedicated following, and this concert offered a new dimension to her artistry. Her 2022 album, Car Therapy Sessions, hinted at her orchestral ambitions, and this concert fully realized that vision. The performance also highlighted the interplay between Webster’s band, including pianist Nick Rosen, and the orchestra.

Webster expressed that the collaboration felt like the culmination of an idea that began with her concept for “Underdressed at the Symphony.” The concert is expected to increase interest in orchestral interpretations of contemporary indie artists, potentially opening new avenues for cross-genre collaboration. Following a standing ovation and an encore performance of “I Know You,” Webster and the orchestra left the stage, having created a performance that many attendees described as deeply moving.
