FC Rosengård 1917 unveiled a recent club crest on Monday, marking a significant shift in the Swedish club’s visual identity and signaling a new partnership with FC Copenhagen.
The change was unanimously approved by club members at the annual general meeting. The dominant blue color in the new design is a nod to the historical colors of Malmö BI, the club’s original name, and also serves as a welcome to their Danish partners.
“We are incredibly pleased with this club crest, which truly symbolizes the start of this new and exciting journey we have embarked on, while also carrying the name and history into the future,” said Chairman Håkan Wifvesson on the club’s website.
The men’s team will debut the new colors when they face Lunds BK in their Ettan league opener on April 4th. The youth organization based at Rosengård’s sports ground will implement the changes gradually.
However, the women’s team and the FC Rosengård organization based at Malmö sports ground will not be affected by the change and will retain their existing club crest.
The rebranding comes as FC Rosengård continues to build its squad for the upcoming Ettan Södra season, recently adding winger Ayomide Jibodu to the roster. More information is available on the club’s website.
