Profile of Grupo Argos’ New CFO
In addition to his position at the cement company, Aristizábal has served as strategy and M&A manager at Grupo Argos, head of energy and natural resources at Bancolombia, a senior associate in investment banking capital markets at Bancolombia, and an investment professional at SC Lowy in London.
He too spearheaded the Sprint program, which has been recognized in the market for the value it has delivered to Cementos Argos shareholders, and led the process to prepare for the listing of Argos USA on the New York Stock Exchange, as well as having experience in mergers, and acquisitions.
The Grupo Argos Board of Directors expressed “the highest admiration and gratitude” for Alejandro Piedrahíta’s leadership over the past decade, highlighting his contributions to the organization’s strategic and financial direction.
Meanwhile, the Cementos Argos Board indicated it will begin the process of appointing a new vice president of finance and will announce a replacement once a decision is made.
With Aristizábal’s appointment to the holding company, two executives from Cementos Argos will now hold top positions within Grupo Argos. Juan Esteban Calle, president of Cementos Argos, was previously named president of Grupo Argos.

Aristizábal will replace Jorge Mario Velásquez in leading the infrastructure-focused group, also beginning on April 1.
Cementos Argos has yet to name a successor to Aristizábal, and will announce its decision at a later date.
