Paintings were drying on tables as a photo studio was set up against a white wall. Attendees circulated among the workshops, observing and participating. Blending art, feminism, and disability advocacy, the February 14th event hosted by Les Bazarettes at Mas Saint-Pierre was designed as an open space where individuals could reclaim their bodies and images.

The day extended the perform initiated in May by Les Bazarettes around the theme of the body. For Fanny Petit, a member of the feminist collective, the goal was to offer opportunities to people with disabilities at Mas Saint-Pierre, as well as to visitors. “We wanted to multiply the approaches: makeup, photo, writing, screen printing… So that everyone could enter through the door that suits them.”

The body is presented as a starting point, not an complete in itself. Since the launch of the festival, this concept has been a recurring theme. Participants also discovered performances by the Duo SOMA company, featuring cabaret and improvisational elements, even as a solidarity thrift shop and book sale added a participatory dimension. The event arrives as conversations around body image and representation continue to gain prominence in entertainment and media.

Female bodies are exposed and evaluated in everyday life. “They are very looked at, very commented on. We wanted to…” the collective stated, leaving the thought unfinished. The event offered a space for creative expression and challenged conventional perceptions of beauty and self-worth.
