Fenerbahçe is closely monitoring 21-year-old Turkish winger Başar Önal, who currently plays for NEC Nijmegen in the Dutch Eredivisie. Reports indicate that Fenerbahçe officials were in the stands to observe the young player.

According to a report from Dutch journalist Jeroen Kapteijns, Fenerbahçe is showing interest in Başar Önal. The report states that Fenerbahçe director Ertan Torunoğulları attended NEC Nijmegen’s 2-2 draw against Heerenveen on Sunday and closely watched the 21-year-old player during the match. Başar Önal played the full 90 minutes in the contest.

The young player came through the De Graafschap youth academy and transferred to NEC Nijmegen in 2024 for a fee of €1 million. He has since found success with his new club, increasing his market value to €4 million in the latest update. This season, Başar Önal has recorded 8 goals and 8 assists in 29 appearances across all competitions for NEC Nijmegen.
The young player has too represented Turkey at various youth levels and is reportedly attracting attention from other clubs across Europe.
