What is the most beloved game from the original PlayStation? But which one reigns supreme? According to a vote by 25,000 retro gaming enthusiasts organized by Retrododo, it’s Final Fantasy VII.

Final Fantasy VII emerged victorious against a formidable lineup of competitors. It reached the final round against Tekken 3 after defeating Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Tomb Raider 3, and Metal Gear Solid.
Tekken 3 had advanced to the final round by overcoming Wipeout XL, Gran Turismo 2, and Chrono Cross, but ultimately fell to Cloud’s blade. This result underscores the enduring impact of the PlayStation era on gaming culture.
Numerous other notable titles also participated but didn’t make the cut, including Resident Evil 2, Tomb Raider 2, and Legacy of Kain.
