Florence Train Delays: Woman Hit by Train Near Rifredi Station – March 9, 2026

FLORENCE, Italy (March 9, 2026) — Train service in and around Florence experienced significant disruptions Monday evening after a woman was struck by a train near the Rifredi station. The incident underscores the ongoing challenges of rail safety and the potential for widespread travel delays.

According to reports, the incident occurred shortly before 8 p.m. Local time near Via dello Steccuto. The 47-year-old woman was transported to Careggi hospital in critical condition.

Authorities suspended train traffic immediately following the incident to allow for an investigation.
