Florence, a skater competing at the Winter Games, was born with a hand condition that she has described as resembling a “Lego hand.”
The athlete revealed that realizing she was different initially caused her sadness, according to Nieuwsblad. Despite this initial emotional response, she has gone on to achieve success on the international stage.
This revelation comes as speed skating continues to gain prominence, with velodromes and cross-country skiing too welcomed into the Olympic Winter Games program. However, sports federations will not be permitted to claim income from these additions, as reported by Nieuwsblad.
