The Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grand Prix races, scheduled to be the fourth and fifth rounds of the 2026 Formula 1 World Championship in April, have been canceled due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA) announced Sunday.
The international governing body for motorsports, including Formula 1, stated in a release: “Following careful assessments, and due to the current situation in the Middle East, the Bahrain and Saudi Arabian Grands Prix will not take place in April.”
Practice, qualifying, and the races in the two Gulf nations, which have regularly been targeted by strikes from Iran since late February, were slated for April 10-12 and April 17-19, respectively. Organizers confirmed that these races will not be replaced by other Grand Prix events.
